I Went Back To Philadelphia, But My City Was Gone

I tune into the Real World Philadelphia, and it’s the same episode that I watch the same seven minutes of before turning off the teevee. It doesn’t look like my city. It doesn’t even look human. There are girls who can’t even comprehend not having a man be attracted to them. There are people who use the phrase, “that ass is mine.” There are blond girls who dance like they are in rap videos, or think that’s how they are supposed to dance. I’m a fucking fossil. I’m never having sex again.

i love that ass is mine! i have to use it more often. next time i see you sounds about right!
i’ve been fed up with MTV shows for ages, but my better half persists. not only do i not see any economic utility for the greater population (o.k. let’s see, we give Real World a bunch of breaks in the hope of someone buying a dinner at a local restaurant…i’m sorry i fail to see how i personally make out in the deal), but it’s just bad television that makes philly look more provincial than it already is. that’s the editor’s doing, and street’s people (along with the business coalition’s, and the fucking Young Involved Philadelphians should have had the sense as well.)
i like writing parenthetically for some reason. i just woke up.

Hey now. If you think you’re never going to have sex again because you’re not 21 anymore, that is unaccebtable. But if you think you’re never going to have sex again because that show and the people on it is so thoroughly repellent that it makes your vagina grow closed like Barbie’s and your uterus shrivel up like a neglected house plant, well then, there’s room in that boat for two, sister. That show makes me want to salt the earth.
